Morgins Lifts and Pistes improving

Busy lunchtime terrace at Chez Gaby

Tim,Tony,Andy and Steve top of Pertuis today

Today I skied Morgins on perfectly prepared pistes in bright sunshine and sub zero temperatures keeping the snow powdery and helping to flatter my skiing somewhat! As we raced down long white trails of fresh corduroy snow with no one around I remembered why Morgins is such a lovely place to visit .After a difficult start to the season due a broken lift and the introduction of a bus transfer for the link to Les Crosets, I can report some goods news. First the rope tow out of Champoussin is back in operation restoring the link between Morgins and Les Crosets. We are still waiting to hear about the plans for next year and when the Pointe de l’Au chair will open – so fingers crossed .Even better news is that they have now pisted the Bonevaux valley which means there is a lovely new run through the trees with  some fantastic off piste taking straight back to the Morgins village. It is easy to access off the top of the Aiguille des Champagneys lift. We lunched in Chez Gaby where they were offering a special Rosti menu- packing out the sunny terrace with many locals taking advantage of the wonderful conditions. Lets hope the sun keeps shining tomorrow !
